Ana Maria Camargo has a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and a PhD in Sciences from the University of São Paulo. She participated in the coordination of the Xylella fastidiosa Genome Sequencing Project and the Human Cancer Genome Project. Dr. Ana Maria is currently coordinator and researcher at the Center for Molecular Oncology and research manager at the Sírio Libanês Institute. Her main line of research studies genetic and epigenetic changes that occur in the tumor cell, aiming at the development of new tools for the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of the disease.
